Buy a mouse pad if you only need a surface for the mouse, and a desk mat if you want the keyboard, mouse and perhaps a laptop on one surface that also covers the desk. Buyrouth's desk mats come in 80 × 30 cm for a keyboard and mouse, and in 80 × 40 or 90 × 40 cm for extra room, in polyester fabric with a rubber base or in wipe-clean PU leather. The Memory Foam Mouse Pad with a built-in wrist rest costs $6, and desk mats cost $8 to $16, delivered across Lebanon.
Mouse pad or desk mat?
A mouse pad sits under the mouse only and takes little space. A desk mat, also called an extended mouse pad, holds the keyboard and mouse together, so the mouse doesn't run off the edge, and covers the desk against scratches and spills.
Sizes: measure your desk first
- 80 × 30 cm: the Desk Mat and the PU Leather Office Desk Mat. Room for a keyboard with the mouse beside it.
- 80 × 40 cm: the BUBM Double-Sided PU Leather Desk Mat. Extra depth for a notebook.
- 90 × 40 cm: the Desk Mat and the PU Leather Office Desk Mat. For a keyboard, mouse and laptop side by side.
Measure your desk before you order. The Memory Foam Mouse Pad is for the mouse alone; its listing gives no dimensions.
Materials: fabric, PU leather and memory foam
- Fabric: the classic mouse-pad surface. The Desk Mat has a heat-resistant polyester top with a waterproof coating on a non-slip neoprene rubber base. The Memory Foam Mouse Pad has a smooth fabric top, a non-slip PU base and reinforced edges that resist curling.
- PU leather: a polyurethane synthetic leather. Both PU mats list a waterproof surface that wipes clean and a non-slip grip, which suits a desk with coffee on it.
- Memory foam: the soft cushioning in wrist rests.

Wrist rests
A wrist rest gives your hand a soft place in front of the mouse or keyboard. It's a matter of comfort and personal preference, not a medical product.
- Memory Foam Keyboard Wrist Rest Set ($19): memory foam rests for the keyboard and mouse, with a soft nylon cover and an anti-slip base.
- Ergonomic Pro Lap Desk with Wrist Rest ($39): for the sofa, with a built-in mouse pad of about 12.7 × 22.9 cm and a cushioned wrist rest, for laptops up to 15.6 inches.
Which one to buy
- Just the mouse, or a small desk: the Memory Foam Mouse Pad ($6).
- Keyboard and mouse: the Desk Mat in 80 × 30 cm ($9).
- Keyboard, mouse and laptop, or gaming with wide mouse movements: the Desk Mat in 90 × 40 cm ($12), or the BUBM mat in 80 × 40 cm ($8).
- A wipe-clean office look: the PU Leather Office Desk Mat in brown or grey ($14 or $16).
- Two looks in one: the BUBM mat, which you flip for the other colour.

Cleaning
Wipe PU leather with a damp cloth. On the fabric Desk Mat, blot spills quickly, spot-clean marks with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, and let it dry flat. Spot-clean the mouse pad rather than soaking the cushion.

Frequently asked questions
What size desk mat do I need?
80 × 30 cm fits a keyboard and mouse. For a laptop or notebook as well, choose 90 × 40 cm or the 80 × 40 cm BUBM mat.
Is a PU leather desk mat good for a mouse?
Both PU leather listings describe a smooth surface for the keyboard and mouse. If you prefer a cloth feel, choose the fabric Desk Mat.
Are the desk mats waterproof?
The Desk Mat has a waterproof coating and both PU leather mats a waterproof surface. The Memory Foam Mouse Pad's listing doesn't mention it.
Can I buy a mouse pad online and pay cash on delivery?
Yes. Buyrouth delivers to all of Lebanon; pay cash on delivery or by card, or pick up in Sin El Fil.
